I just got off the phone with the Surgeon General, calling to remind me yet again about the hazards of mixing triptaphen and rapid humoron influx.
He actually called for Doctor Toboggans, who is presently in Istanbul, visiting the Istan Mystics, the only people equipped to handle the doctor’s extended presence due to their highly developed spiritual disciplines, which include a strict diet of acetylene roasted chitlins and sleeping on a bed of nail-polish chips…

As anyone who has been following this blog can tell you, the Ominous Comma, in addition to having delusions of humor, is also a fount of scientifical information. Many exciting postulates, hastily constructed theories and nearly accurate observations have had their start right here on these very pages. And today I am pleased to bring to light yet another amazing discovery: the humoron…

The internet is the great equalizer, making a raging democracy of voices and viewpoints available for the attention of the world. Every person with an opinion and a computer can start a weblog and with comment options turned off, and trackbacks disabled, these same people can even be assured of always being “right.”
However, unless you are the recipient of lottery winnings or perhaps a multi-million dollar out-of-court settlement, you are still going to have to hold some sort of gainful employment.
I recommend holding it loosely, at arms length, to minimize your shame and degradation…
Humoron Shortage Hits U.S. Writers

Yesterday, I was visited by representatives of the Department of Humor Security. It seems that there is humoron shortage and I have be asked, in a spirit of community patriotism, to stop wasting vital humor resources on projects as trivial as this blog. Apparently my humble attempts at humor are draining the inter-dimensional supply of ridiculousity required by the government for its continued operation…
